Corporate Social Responsibility
TSG is the only company to have opened crab processing centers in the formerly conflict affected areas of northern Sri Lanka. TSG has created new employment opportunities, mostly for women and help to rebuild shattered lives.
As a responsible corporate operating in the North, TSG is active in community development, empowerment and environmental protection activities. Planting of the Mangroves and active engagement in the government-initiated project “Vana Roopa” is a main project TSG is involved as a responsible entity that operates within coastal areas. Empowering the communities: TSG gives assistance in order to draw the attention of the government authorities to the illegal Indian trawlers visiting Sri Lankan waters, that disturbs the fishing community’s livelihood by means of silent protests in the North, postcard campaigns to The President of SL etc.
To empower the future, TSG has a scholarship scheme named “TSF Arunalu” for the TSG staff and the communities in the operational vicinity amongst the fishing communities. Every school term, TSG carries out a programme in under privileged schools and distributes school bags, book etc. to strengthen the education of the younger generations.
Further development of religious entities is a significant component in community development and TSG donated LKR 2mn for the construction of a church tomb in Iranamathi, an area that is under privileged.
TSG is always at the forefront, extending its fullest support in its own capacity during any national need created due to natural disasters.
